Fejsa extends contract until 2019

Ljubomir Fejsa has renewed his contract with Benfica until June 2019, a one-year extension to his existing deal.

The Serbian arrived from Greek side Olympiacos in 2013 for just under €5m.

Fesja featured regularly under Jorge Jesus until a serious anterior cruciate ligament injury left him on the sidelines for nearly 10 months. He is now a vital player for Rui Vitória and constantly alternates with Andreas Samaris for the defensive midfield position.

Contract extensions for first-team trio

Semedo and Sanches

Despite Benfica’s patchy form on the pitch, there was good news from the boardroom last week as Nico Gaitán, Nélson Semedo and Renato Sanches committed their futures to the club. Gaitán’s new contract ties him to Benfica until 2019, and includes a minimum fee release clause of €45 million. Semedo and Sanches have both renewed until 2021. Semedo’s release fee is €60 million, while Sanches’ has been set at €80 million.
