Vitória: "Luisão has an exemplary attitude"

Benfica do battle with Belenenses at the Estádio do Restelo on Sunday night, knowing that a win would take them three points clear of Porto, and five ahead of Sporting at the top of the Liga NOS. Belenenses, under the guidance of experienced Portuguese coach Quim Machado, are currently 13th in the table.

Squad List: Belenenses x Benfica

Rui Vitória has named a 20-man squad for Matchday 8 of the Liga NOS. Jardel, André Horta, Andreas Samaris and Guillermo Celis are not on the long-term injury list, but have not been selected.

Jonas and Rafa are still out with foot and thigh injuries, respectively. André Almeida returns to the squad after recovering from a knee sprain.

Sunday's game takes place at the Estádio do Restelo, at 20:15 Portuguese time.

Grimaldo delighted to get off the mark

Benfica stretched their lead at the top of the Liga NOS to three points with a resounding 4-0 victory over Feirense at the Estádio da Luz on Sunday. After some initial resistance from the visitors, the deadlock was broken by a dramatic own-goal from Luís Aurélio. The Eagles ran riot in the second half, with Eduardo Salvio, Franco Cervi and Álex Grimaldo all adding their names to the scoresheet.

Highlights: Benfica 4 - 0 Feirense

Vitória allays Horta injury fears

Benfica welcome 9th placed Feirense to the Estádio da Luz on Sunday afternoon, knowing that a victory will take them three points clear at the top of the Liga NOS. Rui Vitória is not expecting an easy ride from José Mota's side, who have won two out of three away games so far this season.

Squad List: Benfica x Feirense

Ahead of Sunday's game with Feirense, Benfica are still without Rafa Silva (right thigh), Raúl Jiménez (left knee), Jonas (right foot), Jardel (left thigh) and Andreas Samaris (left ankle). Danilo has recovered from his right leg injury, but has not been selected, presumably due to a lack of match fitness.

André Horta has been ruled out with a right thigh strain. Eliseu, who turned 33 on Saturday, has been overlooked once again. Andrija Živković was ineligible for Wednesday's trip to Napoli, but returns to the squad this weekend.

Sunday's game commences at 16:00 at the Estádio da Luz.

Goalkeepers: Ederson and Júlio César

Defenders: Lisandro, Grimaldo, Luisão, Lindelöf, Nélson Semedo and André Almeida

Midfielders: Fejsa, Carrillo, Živković, Salvio, Pizzi, Cervi and Celis

Forwards: Mitroglou, José Gomes and Gonçalo Guedes

Vitória lauds Napoli's quality and style

Benfica return to Champions League action on Wednesday night, when they face Napoli at the Stadio San Paolo. Maurizio Sarri's side are currently second in Serie A, and seventeenth in the UEFA rankings. Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Rui Vitória was full of praise for the Italian outfit.

Pizzi: "We must salute the efforts of GD Chaves"

Benfica retained top spot in the Liga NOS with a 2-0 triumph over Chaves on Saturday evening. The home side were more than worthy opponents, hitting the post twice, and having a goal ruled out for offside. Kostas Mitroglou also had two goals disallowed - one incorrectly - before he glanced home the opener from an Álex Grimaldo free-kick.

Pizzi sealed the points in the dying minutes with a typically opportunistic strike, and after the match, he paid tribute to Benfica's plucky adversaries.

Vitória: "We are not concerned with records"

Benfica take on newly-promoted Chaves on Saturday night, the only other unbeaten team in the Primeira Liga. The Eagles should be full of confidence having captured top spot in the Liga NOS last weekend, although nothing has changed for head coach Rui Vitória.

Squad List: Chaves x Benfica

Benfica have no new injuries to contend with ahead of their game with Chaves on Saturday evening. The Encarnados are still without Jardel, Danilo, Andreas Samaris, Rafa, Jonas and Raúl Jiménez.

Luka Jović and Eliseu have both been dropped, but Paulo Lopes has been included in Rui Vitória's preliminary 20-man squad.

The match at the Estádio Municipal de Chaves begins at 18:15 local time.

Goalkeepers: Ederson, Júlio César and Paulo Lopes

Defenders: Lisandro, Grimaldo, Luisão, Lindelöf, André Almeida and Nélson Semedo

Midfielders: Fejsa, Celis, André Horta, Carrillo, Salvio, Pizzi, Živković and Cervi
