
| Benfica B in Liga Orangina 2012/13 - 26 April 2012 |
The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) and the Portuguese League of Professional Footballer's (LPFP) confirmed today of the increase of Portugal's second division with six additional teams from season 2012/13.
The governing bodies arrived at a unanimous decision this afternoon to officially increase the Liga Orangina from 16 to 22 clubs to accommodate 6 B-teams from the Liga Zon Sagres.
Benfica and Marítimo look set to field their B sides from next season whilst Porto, Sporting, Braga and Guimarães are studying their options.
B teams won't be allowed to be promoted to Portugal's top division.
