The Benfica Foundation, a charitable initiative, has helped hundreds of disadvantaged children over the years and players from the B and junior sides played their role in visiting the largest paediatric hospital of Portugal 'Hospital Dona Estefania'.

This annual visit saw Rui Fonte (Benfica B forward) and André Ferreira (Junior goalkeeper) visit children at the hospital which brought a lot of smiles.

"This is a difficult situation for these children, but at the same time incredibly rewarding to give them presents. This is the best part of football, being able to help those in need. Many are our fans and follow the various teams within Benfica."

"It was very gratifying to take part alongside the Benfica Foundation to give the children a moment of joy especially as they will not be able to join their families during Christmas."
