Benfica had their first training session for the upcoming 2015/16 season on Saturday 4th July at the Caixa Futebol Campus, and will be on their third by Monday 6th July which is scheduled for 09:30.
Most players returned from their holiday break to be lead by new coaching staff, headed by Rui Vitória who re-joined the club from Vitória de Guimarães, who seemed pleased with the way Benfica's new life began.
"It has been very positive and I am pleased with everyone's effort so far, not only today's session but all the work we have put together since the beginning."
The manager was hoping for the session to be open to supporters, however due to logistic reasons at the ground it was not possible to accommodate, although fans can expect one in the near future.
"It's evident I wanted the Benfica nation to be present in the first training session but it wasn't possible, it will happen though, hopefully before the squad departs to the International Cup in North America."
"Consider this an anticipated invitation. We will all walk together."
