International football returns this week, and up to ten first-team players could be in action for their respective countries. Read on to discover who is playing when.

PORTUGAL

Eliseu has retained his place in the Portugal squad despite not featuring for Benfica so far this season. The newly-crowned European Champions meet Gibraltar in a friendly in Porto (Thursday 1st September), before facing Switzerland in Basel in a World Cup qualifier (Tuesday 6th September).

PORTUGAL U21s

19-year old André Horta could made his debut for Portugal's under-21 side this week. The Benfica youth product has already represented his country at under-18, under-19 and under-20 level, and is joined in the squad by his older brother, Braga winger Ricardo Horta.

Gonçalo Guedes has also been selected, together with Benfica B's Yuri Ribeiro and João Carvalho. Rui Jorge's team play Israel in Paços de Ferreira (Friday 2nd September) and Greece in Barcelos (Tuesday 6th September). Both games are qualifiers for next summer's European Championships in Poland.

SPAIN U21s

Left-back Álex Grimaldo has been rewarded for his excellent start to the new season with a call-up to the Spanish under-21 squad. The 20-year old will hope to get some minutes in the Euro 2017 qualifiers against San Marino (Thursday 1st September) and Sweden (Monday 5th September). Grimaldo made his first and only appearance for Spain under-21s in February 2013, when he was just 17-years old. He was handed his debut by current national team coach Julen Lopetegui.

SERBIA

Ljubomir Fejsa will represent Serbia in their World Cup qualifier with the Republic of Ireland (Monday 5th September). Andrija Živković was also selected by head coach Slavoljub Muslin, but was forced to withdraw with the right leg injury that has so far prevented him from making his competitive debut for Benfica. The 20-year old was replaced by Braga's Nikola Stojiljković.

GREECE

Andreas Samaris and Kostas Mitroglou have linked up with the Greece squad in preparation for a friendly against the Netherlands (Thursday 1st September), and a World Cup qualifier versus Gibraltar (Tuesday 6th September). The latter match will be played in Portugal, at the Estádio Algarve.

MEXICO

Raúl Jiménez will hope to transfer his goalscoring form to the international stage when Mexico contest World Cup qualifiers against El Salvador (Friday 2nd September) and Honduras (Tuesday 6th September).

COLOMBIA

National coach José Pékerman has selected recent signing Guillermo Celis for the World Cup qualifiers against Venezuela (Thursday 1st September) and Brazil (Tuesday 6th September).

SWEDEN

Victor Lindelöf is expected to add to his six senior international caps when Sweden take on the Netherlands in a World Cup qualifier (Tuesday 6th September).
