Mile Svilar: Introducing Benfica's latest teen prodigy

Mile Svilar

At the end of August, Benfica announced the signing of a 17-year-old goalkeeper named Mile Svilar, who had yet to make a single senior appearance in his fledgling career. Many expected him to serve as backup to Júlio César and Bruno Varela, or even to start out with Benfica B. Less than three months later, he is Benfica's first choice stopper. @BlackRegista reveals all about the teen prodigy, in an article originally featured on FootyTalk.

With Benfica eager to extend their seven-game unbeaten run in domestic competition, their momentum has been halted by the return of another international break. An array of Águias have been called up to represent their respective national teams, and will be hoping to return home injury-free ahead of Benfica's Taça de Portugal clash with Vitória de Setúbal on November 18th.
