Benfica B player Fábio Cardoso has confirmed that he will be leaving Benfica temporarily after 9 years at the Lisbon club.

The Portuguese central defender left a message on social networks to say goodbye until the end of the season.

Silvio returns after 8 month absence

Benfica's left-back Silvio is now available for manager Jorge Jesus after 8 months of hardship on the sidelines.

The 27 year-old is on loan from Atlético de Madrid since 2013, who allowed him to continue at the Lisbon side after sustaining the long term injury, fracturing both the fibula and tibia on his right leg.

Benfica's Dakar rider maintains 3rd position

Paulo Gonçalves, SL Benfica's talented motorbike rider, features once again in the Dakar Rally which is taking place in Argentina, Bolivia and Chile.

Paulo has been able to maintain his 3rd position today which connected Copiapo to Antofagasta in the 5th stage of this edition, totalling 174km.

The experienced rider is 22 minutes away from top spot with a time of 4h42m53s.

Tomorrow's stage will be a gruelling 320km for the Benfica man that links Antofagasta to Iquique.

Rúben Pinto loaned to Paços de Ferreira

Benfica B captain Rúben Pinto has moved to Primeira Liga side Paços de Ferreira on loan until end of season, confirmed the north Portuguese club via their official website.

Over 5 years ago the now 22-year-old travelled with the main team to Toronto (Canada) and scored in a friendly against Celtic (Scotland) with a pass from Di María as Benfica won 3-1.

This is Benfica's fourth confirmed exit of the winter transfer window.

Benfica B beat Sporting B away

Benfica's B team travelled this morning to Alcochete to face rivals Sporting B in the 21st matchweek of the Segunda Liga where the reds won 1-0.

Benfica scored in the first 3 minutes via a venemous shot by Fábio Cardoso, who lashed at the ball inside the area giving the opposition no chance at a block or a potential save.

Sporting were unable to react to the early goal and the match literally ended as it started.

The winter transfer window officially opened on Friday 2nd January and Benfica have already confirmed two exits, a permanent move for Enzo to Spain and a loan spell for Nélson Oliveira, with a further two in the pipeline.
